Paige's helping hand was started because there is a need for families who have lost a child. As a grieving parent of a deceased child, I understand that the holidays are very hard to shop for. Paige passed away this December and I was unable to buy Christmas stocking stuffers for my other children. On three separate occasions, I walked into the store with the sole intent to buy the stocking stuffers, but only to find myself leaving empty handed and in tears. With the help of family and friends, we had the Christmas that my kids deserved. When Easter arrived, I found myself with the same overwhelming feelings that I had during the Christmas shopping trips. I thought to myself, how am I going to do this? 'Again, with the help of family and friends, we had the Easter that my kids deserved. After the Easter experience, I began thinking about how I wanted to help ease the burden of other grieving families. Began researching and talking with other grieving parents and discovered that I am not the only person who has had trouble with the holidays. I then came up with the ideal of providing the families of a lost child with Christmas stockings and Easter baskets for their surviving children. With Paige's helping hand let help these families enjoy the holidays again.
