MEET HCF COUNCIL MEMBER - SPENCER WHITE
Spencer White is the Branch President of Farmers and Merchants Branch of First National Bank in Huron, SD. After graduating from the University of South Dakota with a Business Management degree in 1999, he worked briefly for his brother's company, Dakota Environmental Inc., in Huron, doing well drilling and soil testing. In 2001, he began working as a sales manager/finance manager for Prostrollo Motor Sales in Huron. In 2005, Spencer began his banking career with Wells Fargo in Huron as a business banker. In 2010, he accepted the Branch President position with Farmers and Merchants. He handles commercial loans for Huron, as well as overseeing the operations in Huron and Lake Preston.
Spencer has been very involved in his community. He currently serves as Chairman of the Jan Manolis Family Safe Center, Treasurer for the Huron Community Foundation, Treasurer for Huron Regional Medical Center, and board member for Ally Dakota Development. Past boards include Chairman of the Huron Chamber and Visitors' Bureau, Chairman of the Dakota Riptide swim team, and Chairman for Our Home Inc.
White and his wife, Jamie, have three children: Hayden, 24, Aspen, 19, and Archer, age 14. Hayden is an RN with Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, Aspen is in her second year at SDSU studying elementary education, and Archer is a freshman at Huron High School.
Spencer believes that leadership is about the relationships we build and treating everyone from the cleaning crew to senior management with respect. He will also never ask one of his employees to do something he isn't willing to do himself.
