🦁💙💛 SMALL ACTS CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE 🚲

Today, while scrolling through Facebook, Hurlock Lions Club President King Lion Bob Faulkner came across a post from Tides of Grace, Inc. in a local community group.

The post shared a request on behalf of a local mom whose 17-year-old son had just gotten his first job. The family did not have a car, and they were hoping someone might have a used bicycle they could donate so he would have a reliable way to get to and from work.

It was a simple need—and one we knew we could help with.

🦁 Within 15 minutes of seeing the post, Bob reached out on behalf of the Hurlock Lions Club.

🚲 Less than 90 minutes later, a nearly new bicycle was delivered to this young man.

Sometimes service doesn’t require a big project, weeks of planning, or a fundraiser. Sometimes it’s simply seeing a need and responding when you have the ability to help.

We were glad to play a small part in helping this young man as he takes an important step forward with his first job. We wish him nothing but success!

And we appreciate organizations like Tides of Grace, Inc. that help connect people in our community with the resources and neighbors who can lend a hand.

Memphis hosts the 50th USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum on September 3

This year's 50th Annual USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum will be held in Memphis, Tennessee, at the Renasant Convention Center, September 3 through 5, 2026, featuring leadership development, education, service, and fellowship. According to the official registration page, there are currently over 1,840 participants from the United States, Canada, and other countries.

The 2026 Forum offers more than 70 seminar training opportunities, covering leadership, membership, service, club development, and other areas designed to strengthen Lions and their clubs. The official schedule organizes the educational program into 10 seminar session periods throughout the Forum.

This year marks a historic milestone. The first Forum was held in Rosemont, Illinois, in 1977, making Memphis the celebration of 50 years of leadership, learning, and fellowship.

According to First Vice District Governor Dr. Nia MacKay, District 2-X1 is well represented at the Memphis Forum with 21 Lions attending, offering an excellent opportunity for new ideas, leadership inspiration, and education.
