Weather Update: ALL MILITARY PRIVATIZED HOUSING, SOUNDSIDE LODGING AND FAMCAMP EVACUATION ORDERED

The 1 SOW commander has declared a mandatory evacuation of the Hurlburt Field FAMCamp and ALL military privatized housing in preparation for potential Tropical Storm Isaias impacts.

Everyone located in FAMCamp and military privatized housing must be evacuated by 5:00 p.m., Oct. 8, 2026.

Forecasted storm surge is expected to inundate a utility lift station located on the Soundside of the installation. Inundation of this facility would knock out essential potable water and wastewater/sewage lines connected to base housing and Soundside facilities. Structural damage to housing units is not expected; this evacuation is strictly a preventative sanitation and living-condition measure.

This concern is isolated to Hurlburt Field infrastructure and does not indicate a wider threat or evacuation requirement for surrounding civilian communities or off-base neighborhoods.

A base-wide evacuation order has not been issued. These specific housing residents are authorized reimbursement for mileage and lodging north of Highway 98 and up to 500 miles from the local area. If your off-base county of residence issues a mandatory evacuation order for your zone, that order applies concurrently and authorizes military reimbursement entitlements.

For more information on entitlements and the most up-to-date information, please visit the Hurricane Information section of the Hurlburt website at https://www.hurlburt.af.mil/Home/Helpful-Info/Hurricane-Info/ or stay tuned to this page for updates.
