Black History Trivia Event last Saturday February 28 from 1:00-4:00. It was a great afternoon. 7 Auxiliary members attended. Deborah Williams put on the event. Guest speaker was Eddie Davis Jr. He wrote a book about William Hooper Williams titled “The Greatest Negro The Race Ever Produced” We had lunch first-hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings and baked beans-then the guest speaker- then the trivia -it was great fun!

Thank you all that participated in the 5th Annual Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on December 7th. It was a very special day and our speaker, Clay Davis, Commander, US Navy, Retired, did an outstanding job. A special tribute to the servicemen that made the ultimate sacrifice that day. Thank you to the VFW Post 2702 for hosting this special event. Thank you, Anna Gaffin, for reading the names of the 47 soldiers that lost their lives that day that were from the State of Alabama. Thank you to the Planning Committee for all your dedicated work…

An estimated 15 - 20 VFW Post 2702 members and AUXILiARY members participated and attended the Veterans Day - ANNUAL VETERANS DINNER held on November 10, 2025 at the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, AL. There were a total of over 1,000 participates in attendance at the dinner. The Gentry-Isom VFW Post 2702 Commander SGM/Ret Bobby Lee received the 2025 Huntsville-Madison County Veteran of the Year. Several. military veterans were recognized by their names being listed on the Madison County Hall of Heroes located in the lobby of the Madison County Courthouse in downtown Huntsville, AL The Madison County Military Heritage Commission (MCMHC) inducted:
John M. Chancellor, Jr., Republic of Vietnam - Distinguished Flying Cross & Bronze Star with "V" and
Stanley Minkinow, Republic of Vietnam - Distinguished Flying Cross & Army Commendations Medal with "V". See Auxiliary page for photos of the attendees at the event.
