Pack and Troop 7156 worked on their scouting for clean water. We help clean up after the Jubilee at Point Mallard. The scouts were so proud to be doing something good. I will be adding this to our calendar for next year.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our Nation. Their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of freedom—and we are forever grateful.

As we reflect on this solemn day, we are especially proud to recognize one of our own: Alexander “Sandy” Bonnyman, a Medal of Honor recipient and one of the Great Smoky Mountain Council’s 110th Anniversary Iconic Leaders. His heroism at Tarawa in World War II exemplifies the highest ideals of Scouting—courage, service, and sacrifice.

In observance of Memorial Day, the Great Smoky Mountain Council Service Center will be closed.
The Scout Shop will remain open for your convenience.

Pack and Troop 156 in Atlanta for the Civil Rights Heritage Hike, and parade. Learned a lot about Doctor M.L. King and had a good time in the parade. Can’t wait for our next adventure.
