Our public tornado shelter will be open within the next 5 minutes. Please reference the attached picture of areas to park.

🌪️ Tornado Shelter Parking Notice – Please Read 🌪️

During a tornado warning, the storm shelter at Moores Mill Vol. Fire Rescue will be opened for the community.

To help keep things organized and allow emergency vehicles access if needed, please follow the parking layout shown in the image:

🟢 Green Areas: These areas are designated for parking when you arrive at the shelter.

🔴 Red Areas: These are NO PARKING zones and must remain clear at all times so emergency apparatus can safely move in and out of the station.

Please help us keep these areas open so we can continue serving the community safely during severe weather.

Thank you for your cooperation and support. Stay weather aware!

Moores Mill VFD would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Rex Reynolds and Sam H. Givhan for always fighting to keep your volunteer fire departments up and running. Without the support of our local citizens and Alabama lawmakers, it would be impossible for us to continue operations that help keep our community safe. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. Representative Reynolds and Senator Givhan, we extend a special thank you!

Today we had the opportunity to spend some time at Mt. Carmel Elementary for a community awareness visit! 🚒

Our crew enjoyed meeting students, showing off Engine 135, and talking about fire safety and what we do here at Moores Mill Volunteer Fire Department. Events like these are a great way to connect with the community and help kids feel more comfortable around firefighters and emergency equipment.

Thank you to Mt. Carmel Elementary for having us out today — we always enjoy spending time with the next generation! 🔥🚑👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

🚒 Training & Equipment Checks at Moores Mill Fire/Rescue 🚒

Our crew has been putting in the work—spending time training on hose line operations and going through our trucks and equipment to make sure everything is ready when it matters most.

It’s not always lights and sirens—training and maintenance behind the scenes are what keep us prepared to serve our community safely and effectively. 💪

We’re also looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team! If you’re interested in serving your community, learning new skills, and being part of something bigger, we’d love to have you.

📩 Message us or stop by the station for more information on how to get started.
