aKiran, which translates to "A Ray of Hope," is committed to empowering culturally diverse communities through outreach with a variety of annual community events such as the Community Kite Festival, Statewide Standing in Solidarity Event Against Domestic Violence, and the North Alabama Health & Wellness Fair. AshaKiran also provides culturally competent services in 49+ languages, a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, accompaniment, transportation, advocacy, case management, counseling, translation/interpretation, information & referral. AshaKiran's Cultural Humility and Language Access training focuses on areas such as domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking
