Huntsville Concert Band

Huntsville Concert Band Providing concert band entertainment in the Tennessee Valley since 1963. We have a number of concerts each year where we play a variety of concert band music.

Founded in 1963 and now officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, The Huntsville Concert Band performs year-round at public events throughout Northern Alabama. It is our honor to play at the City of Huntsville’s Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies each year and show our gratitude to our veterans and their families. The band also plays at neighborhood gatherings, senior res

idences, art festivals, and other community events. A typical performance may include Sousa marches, patriotic music, classical selections, show tunes, Broadway musicals, ragtime, novelties, jazz, Dixieland, swing, and sing-alongs. Participation:

Participation in the band is on a voluntary basis. Band members come from all walks of life, from young adults to retirement age, and all musical skill levels, from student to professional. What we have in common is a love of music and a desire to get together to play! Newcomers are always welcome! All that is asked for is a commitment to rehearsals and performances. No auditions are required. We are currently rehearsing at Trinity United Methodist Church on Airport Road in Huntsville. We rehearse from 7:30-9:30pm every Tuesday. Although the threat of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms seems to have lessened, it appears likely that Huntsville will have a round of high winds and heavy rain between 6:30 and 9 PM. We certainly don't want anyone to have trouble on the roads driving to or from Sandra Moon, so we are cancelling tonight's rehearsal.

Marsha asks everyone to make an effort to be seated and ready to play at 2:30 on Sunday, so that we can touch a few spots before the concert.

For many in the Tennessee Valley, Morning Blend has long been a beloved part of the day, and we know Mike will bring warmth, personality, and a true love for music and community to this treasured local program.
