Saturday afternoon the St. Thomas pilgrimage group were welcomed at St. Mary’s Church in Blessington, Ireland. The Rev. Niall Stratford, Rector of St. Mary’s, allowed Fr. Donavan to celebrate the Eucharist for our 23 pilgrims and assisted during Holy Communion. Several members of the parish provided tea, coffee, and cookies for our group afterwards and gave us a tour of St. Mary’s historic bell tower with six church bells forged for the church in 1682! It was very meaningful and special to be able to join our brothers and sisters in the Church of Ireland and to be reminded of our important connection to one another as part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Thank you, St. Mary’s Church, and we look forward to welcoming you and Fr. Stratford to St. Thomas, Huntsville someday soon!
