Proud of our Brody!
South Huntsville Main is proud to introduce the Spirit of South Huntsville Award, recognizing D3 students who go above and beyond to serve and strengthen our community.
“It’s better to leave things better than you found them.”
Four Grissom students put those words into action following the rivalry game against Huntsville. After the stadium had cleared, the students noticed the trash left throughout the student section. Instead of walking away, they grabbed three trash cans and worked together to clean the entire section, leaving the bleachers spotless.
When thanked for going above and beyond, their responses were simple: “Of course,” “No problem,” and they just wanted to “leave things better than they found them.”
Owen Roberts, Serenity Holland, Maggie Johnson, and Brody Bachman were later recognized for their efforts and accepted the recognition with genuine humility. They did not do it for attention or praise. They saw something that needed to be done and took responsibility.
This is character. This is leadership. This is Grissom. We are proud of these students for representing our school and community with pride.
Our September award is made possible through a partnership with Jason D. Landers of Keel Point, who presented our student winners with gift cards to PaPPo’s Pizzeria & Pub Huntsville.
