For the last 8 years, the MidCity Independence Day Celebration has featured a fantastic fireworks show produced by Pyro Shows, Inc., designed by lead operator Lynn Broad. For more than 45 years, Lynn led the production of fireworks shows across the Southeast and beyond, including at venues such as Madison Square Garden. This year is our first Fourth of July since losing Lynn in September. We honor his memory and the joy he brought to thousands here at MidCity District each Independence Day. Here's a story from last year's event about Lynn from our friends at WAAY-TV.

Join us for this year's show, nearly double the size of 2025's display. They'll launch at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4, choreographed to music livestreamed by our partners at Mix 96.9!

Celebrating 250 years of America and centuries of legendary music, this year’s MidCity Independence Day Celebration will absolutely rock! We’re thrilled to announce Jackson Chase Music and Maclin & Co. as our star-studded lineup in Apollo Park. Join us Saturday, July 4th, to celebrate our nation’s birthday with these spectacular artists, leading up to North Alabama’s biggest fireworks show. The party starts at 5:00 p.m.!

🎤Meet Jackson Chase: Jackson Chase makes music that sounds like a NASCAR race being held on a track covered in duck fat. It’s unpredictable, swerving, and greasy, and announces a potent new voice in country music. Hailing from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the 20-year-old grew up on a steady diet of the Black Crowes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Eagles, along with Glen Campbell, Jerry Reed, and the music he heard and sang in church. He distills all of that into the high-octane yet soulful songs that make up his debut album, Purdy, produced by Jaren Johnston. “All I want to do is write, record, and perform authentic Southern music,” Jackson says. “These aren’t your average, everyday truck-and-beer country songs. These songs are about my life and listeners’ lives. They’re timeless.”

🎤Meet Maclin & Co.: Maclin & Co. is a pop/funk/soul band based in North Alabama! Maclin & Co. was founded in 2024 by Lead singer Maclin, and later accompanied by a few members of his church band, and friends. Maclin has been singing since he was a young child, and has won numerous accolades locally and nationally for his talent. There is nothing he loves more than vocals. The co. In Maclin & Co. are from various parts of the country with diverse backgrounds and decades of combined musical experience and expertise.
