See comment section for another warning center that will be opening. Stay warm, friends!!!

As temperatures drop, First Stop is opening an Emergency Warming Center this weekend in coordination with the City of Huntsville and community partners to help ensure our neighbors have a safe, warm place to stay.

🕔 Opening Saturday at 10am
🕘 Remaining open until Tuesday at 9:00 AM
📍 206 Stokes St, Huntsville, AL

First Stop is one of several warming centers opening as part of this coordinated effort, alongside the Downtown Rescue Mission, The Livin’ Room, and the Salvation Army. We are grateful to work together to expand capacity and keep people safe during this period of extreme cold.

Transportation will be provided to those in need by the Huntsville Police Department, helping individuals reach a warming center safely.

To support this effort, we are asking for help from our community. We are currently accepting blankets, food, and essential supplies to help care for those who will rely on the warming center this weekend. These donations will have an immediate impact.

Thank you to our partners, the City of Huntsville, and everyone who continues to step up to care for our neighbors when it matters most.

Hello friends! I wanted to hop on for a minute and talk a little bit about our current involvement with outreach and how you can help.

We get constant messages asking for volunteer opportunities, and while TCP is not currently operational, we still keep close tabs on our friends and their communities.

I direct as many volunteers as I can to RoS for good reason. This ministry works tirelessly and diligently EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK to help our friends in more ways than one. Not only do they provide daily meals for anyone who graces their doorstep, they also provide clothing and other essential items needed for survival.

That’s not [just] what makes this organization top notch. Theresa Wilson and her daughter, Abby, have made it their life’s mission to help save as many souls as possible, and they don’t stop there. They provide rehab assistance to those lost in drug addiction and even teach classes to help individuals learn basic survival skills, such as banking and homemaking. These amazing Godly women are warriors who possess strength and perseverance like I’ve never seen.

Even still, they can’t do it alone, and they need our help. Please, if you feel inclined in the slightest, please consider lighting their load any way you see fit — be it in person volunteering, cooking meals, donating food, or sending money. I can assure you, your donations will directly enter into the hands of our local homeless community, as well as local low income families (or anyone in need).

Please share their plea and please consider donating to this wonderful charity.

Thank you!!!
-Amy Lynn
