Year eight is a wrap. πŸš€

Four days. Multiple venues. Films, panels, music, food, and a street party that reminded everyone exactly why summer in Huntsville is worth showing up for. That was Southern Fried Film Festival 2026.

None of it happens without this community. The people who bought tickets, filled seats, asked questions after screenings, and made the festival feel like exactly what it is supposed to be β€” a shared experience built right here in Huntsville.

This festival is also made possible by the organizations that believe Huntsville deserves this.
A sincere thank you to our 2026 sponsors:
Alabama State Council on the Arts
Arts Huntsville
Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association
North Alabama Film Commission
Redstone Federal Credit Union

Your investment in this festival is an investment in this city.

Year nine is already on our minds. Stay close.

You need to see this filming of SEE YOU WHEN I SEE YOU | With the help of his family, a comedy writer battles PTSD after the tragic death of his sister.

Directed by this film was chosen for a reason. 🀍 Peter Debruge of Variety writes, β€œDuplass has made a movie with audiences in mind β€” a story that many will find relatable, whether you’ve lost someone or just felt lost yourself.”

✨This is our 2nd closing-night film in a row from Jay Duplass. (We showed his Baltimorons last year.) Come see why we chose his work again.

It might be gloomy outside, but inside the Meadery, it’s cozy and just the vibe you want on a rainy day!

Yes, it's Sunday today, but we are OPEN 11am till about 4pm for the last day of the Southern Fried Film Festival.

The film maker panels are completely free to the public, so come on over to delve into the world of film - we heard an animal friend may be making an appearance during the 'Who's A Good Actor?' panel πŸ˜‰

Our new slushy machine will be up and running to serve up both alcohol free and boozy lemonade slushies.

See you in a few!

Have you ever been Fired for Being Fabulous? Join us today for this fabulous panel!

That question sits at the center of this panel β€” and both people who lived it are in the room to answer it.

Fired for Being Fabulous brings together award-winning documentary filmmaker Megan Plotka and Huntsville's own Majesty Devine for a conversation about what it takes to make a documentary from both sides of the lens. How do you choose the story worth telling? How do you convince everyone you're the right person to tell it? And what happens when the story belongs to you?

Megan is an Alabama-based journalist whose work challenges the stories we think we already know about the South. Majesty is a Huntsville-based drag queen, educator, and LGBTQ+ advocate with over two decades of performance experience β€” and a story that became a film.

This is one of the most human conversations of the weekend.

Join us today at Ravenwood Meadery!

Some stories are too important to leave untold. πŸš€

The Long Way Home is a collection of animated short films built from the real experiences of survivors of international parental child abduction β€” a reality that affects thousands of families and rarely makes it to the screen.

What makes this project extraordinary is where it came from. Students in the animation program at The University of Alabama in Huntsville created this series through a course called Animation for Social Change, transforming survivor interviews into visually powerful and emotionally intimate animated narratives.

This is what happens when young artists decide their work should mean something.
