On December 7th, a historical marker in honor of Robert Mosley, an 1890 victim of a lynching in Huntsville, Alabama, when he was just 16, was unveiled. It was a collaborative effort between the Madison County Remembrance Project, the Equal Justice Initiative, and District 17 Prince Hall Masons of Alabama.
Robert Mosley was accused of outrage of modesty, the same type of accusation made against Emmett Till. He was just 16 years old when he was lynched, and his body was found about a half mile from where the marker now stands in front of the District 17 Masonic Center.
