Friends of Rescue Friends of Rescue (FOR) is an all-volunteer, foster-based nonprofit in Huntsville, AL, saving dogs and cats in need.

We provide vet care, safe foster homes, and help animals find forever families while promoting spay/neuter and responsible pet ownership. Our goal is to end the suffering of unwanted animals in North Alabama by providing them quality medical care, loving foster care in a home environment, training and committed forever homes. https://forrescue.net

I feel like that cute little ear is waving “hi” 👋 at us! Say hello back to this ADORABLE, adoptable girl named Macy. She is such a good girl and is oh, so loving. She is great with other dogs and children. She’s a curious little thing. 🦋 And even though she’s around two years old, she still has her puppy look about her. She is sure to win your heart the moment you meet.

Macy knows commands and works on training every day in her foster home. She loves learning! She is very sweet and loves being with her people. She gives the very best kisses! 💋 She loves walks and being outdoors and walks great on a leash. Macy is good in a kennel and is doing great house training. 🏠 She would do well with an active and patient owner who will continue to teach and train with her so she can be her best self.

Did you know kittens can become moms as young as 4 months old? 😿 Cats can reach sexual maturity much earlier than many people realize, and an unexpected litter can happen before you know it.

Spaying and neutering is one of the most important things we can do to help prevent unwanted litters and reduce the number of homeless cats and kittens in our community. 🐾

June was found wandering onto a property with seven other dogs—but her story took a lucky turn when that property belonged to a Friends of Rescue foster. Now safe and cared for, June is ready to find the forever home she truly deserves.

Friends of Rescue is working to help these little ones, and we need our community to rally around them. Fostering gives puppies a safe place to grow, play, learn, and get ready for the loving forever homes they deserve.

Millie is a gorgeous calico with an even more beautiful personality! ❤️ This sweet girl is all about her people. She absolutely loves pets, enjoys spending time with her humans, and is always happy to explore her surroundings while keeping you company.

Millie is affectionate, curious, and happiest when she feels included in whatever you’re doing. If you’re looking for a loving companion who will soak up your attention and make herself part of your everyday life, Millie could be your perfect match! 😻

Lexi is a 6-year-old Staffy mix with a beautiful white coat. This sweet girl has been through a recent life change and is now looking for a forever home where she can truly be the center of someone’s world.

Lexi is friendly, affectionate, and loves her people. Once she knows you, she’s all about attention, pets, and simply being by your side. She has a playful side too and enjoys interacting with other dogs outside of the home—but when it comes to her space, Lexi would really prefer to be your one and only pet.

💖 Lexi’s ideal home:
✔️ No cats (they’re not her thing)
✔️ Preferably no other dogs in the home due to food/treat guarding
✔️ A home where she can get lots of love and attention
✔️ Access to a fenced yard or doggy door (she’s used to indoor living with freedom to go out)

• Housebroken and well-mannered in the home
• Spayed and up to date on vaccines & preventatives
• No ongoing medical needs
• Not a fan of crates—she’s used to free-roaming indoors
• May need pre-medication for nail trims, but otherwise does well at the vet
