Out of hundreds of applications, 2 of our volunteers, Isaiah and Thea, made it into the Vet Tracks program at the Houston SPCA! We’re so proud of them!

The future of veterinary medicine is here! 🩺🐾

This month, we welcomed a new group of students to the Houston SPCA Vet Tracks Program. Throughout the summer, these aspiring veterinary professionals will gain hands-on experience working alongside our dedicated teams, learning about animal care, shelter medicine, wildlife rehabilitation, equine care, and so much more.

We're excited to help inspire and educate the next generation of animal advocates and veterinary leaders. Join us in welcoming our newest Vet Tracks participants! ❤️

Weekend Wish List (Fox Anniversary Edition!).
Can you believe the Foxtastic Four will be celebrating their 1 year anniversary this month? We want to make it an amazing event and are looking for your help. We need fun items off their wishlist to wrap for them on their special day! The more gifts the better! Squeaky toys! Treats! Bones to chew on! All items need ordered by June 15th to make it here it time to be wrapped for them!

Foxes wag their tails to express happiness, excitement, and submission, similar to dogs. This behavior, often seen in captive fox, is used when greeting others. It signifies a positive mood and can be accompanied by high-pitched noises or "screaming". It, also, can indicate being stressed nervous. It can also indicate playfulness. The rest of the body's posture can indicate which of these the behavior represents. Tail wagging in foxes serves as a key communication tool!

Time to reveal our Guess Who animal from this morning 🥁🥁🥁

Taco the Mud Turtle! Taco is named for her shell shape, which is caused by metabolic bone disease. Taco was rescued after living in a hoarding situation, without proper access to clean water or UV light.

Now, Taco has claimed her PEACE of the Wild at BEARS Etc. 🐢
