It was started by the owner of Finnegan's Pub, Ellen McAnelly - a native of Galway, Ireland. Parade History:


The parade was first organized by Finnegan's Pub and its owner, Ellen McAnelly in 1978. In 1996, the organization of the parade was led by Sonnie Hereford IV. The Irish Society of North Alabama joined the team in 2011 and have been organizing the parade since 2012. Patrick's Parade has g

rown by leaps, bounds, and a few more leprechauns since its inception and continues to grow to this day!
