The numbers tell a powerful story.
In 2025, agencies using Charity Tracker provided more than $7.2 million in assistance, delivering 49,159 services to 6,948 households and 10,068 individuals in our community.

As needs continue to rise across adults, seniors, and children, these numbers remind us of the importance of working together—not just to meet immediate needs, but to create pathways to long-term self-sufficiency. Through collaboration, shared resources, and meaningful support, we can help individuals build a future where they no longer need assistance.

🎉 Congratulations, Nic! 🎉

Yesterday, Nic proudly completed KTECH Class 24 — and we couldn't be more proud!

After facing periods of challenge that interrupted his education, Nic found encouragement through his church community and other supportive programs. That turning point gave him the stability and confidence to chase his goals — and chase them he did.

Nic has now earned certifications in:
🔧 Mechatronics
🤖 Robotics
🔩 Soldering
🛠️ Snap-On Tools
🎓 Life Lab Academy

Each credential is a testament to his resilience, focus, and relentless determination. Nic's journey is proof that with the right support and the will to keep going, anything is possible.

We are so honored to be a part of your story, Nic. The best is still ahead! 🌟

Leadership Social Services Mental Health Day continued with reminders such as: Mental illness does not discriminate; in fact, it affects 1 in 4 individuals.

There are ways to take action and support yourself and those around you. 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is a 24/7 confidential crisis support line for people across the U.S.

For those wishing to be or in recovery, ROSS Madison County , a recovery community center, offers a safe space for one-on-one support, peer support groups, and other opportunities for vital social connections.

We then learned about two sober living homes: or Death Recovery Services for men and Best Life Recovery Residences for women. The wraparound support they provide is critical for those recovering from addiction.

As we continue to break down barriers and embrace mental health awareness, may it lead to compassionate, meaningful care for everyone who needs support!

Today was Mental Health Day for our Leadership Social Services class! Valuable information was shared, increasing awareness of mental health services available in Madison County, including the collaborative care provided for a diverse population.

Our first stop of the day was First Stop, Inc., where representatives from the City of Huntsville, Alabama - Government Community Development Department, Huntsville Police Department Crisis Intervention Team, and First Stop shared services primarily provided to our unhoused population, utilizing case management to meet the mental health needs in our community.

We then traveled to WellStone to learn about the services they provide and to tour WellStone Emergency Services psychiatric hospital.

💚When it comes to foster care and adoption, one simple truth remains: it's all about the children.

Alabama is a Family First state — reunification is always the goal, yet foster care is messy, hard, and not talked about nearly enough. 40% of kids experience multiple placements each year. They deal with trauma, educational disruptions, and many age out of the system without support. 60,000 grandparents across Madison, Limestone & Morgan Counties are raising grandchildren.

There is good news: Resources exist in North Alabama, but laws and funding can be improved.

Every child deserves to be healthy, happy, and safe. That starts with us showing up for them.

We appreciate those organizations that participated in this month's Community Connections Meeting: County Department of Human Resources, Endure, of North Alabama, of Madison County, as Parents, and many others in our community who are doing great work!

Something beautiful happens when a community pauses to pray together. This morning, we experienced it firsthand at the Huntsville, Madison, and Madison County Prayer Breakfast.

🙏Prayer brings strength. Prayer brings unity. Prayer brings peace.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

Yesterday's True Charity Discussion was an impactful community conversation as we explored ways to break the cycle of poverty through collaboration, encouragement, and meaningful support.

Real change happens when individuals are surrounded by hands-on support, consistent encouragement, a vision for the future, and opportunities to grow.

Together, we can help inspire a mindset shift from fixed to growth — empowering people to move toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
