Thank you to City of Huntsville, Alabama - Government, Huntsville Police Department, and Team Great Britain for joining us yesterday to brief the public and news media about safety on the roads ahead of the 2026 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships happening Sept. 4-7.

These races are bringing in 400+ athletes from 49 countries to the Rocket City to race and potentially qualify for the LA'28 Games. We are extremely excited for this opportunity to host these teams, but we need to make sure the public is aware of their surroundings.

Athletes will be training on the roads starting this week! Most will be riding to the race route located in Cummings Research Park, but teams are staying all across Madison County so we urge drivers to keep an eye out for these cyclists. Some ride very low to the ground which can be difficult to see in a large vehicle. We cannot control where they ride, so it is imperative that drivers allow space for these athletes to ride.

First, a THANK YOU to everyone who has signed up to help at the upcoming 2026 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships. We are very close to our goal -- we have just about 130 shifts left to fill for course marshals, mainly on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 6-7. Anyone 16 or up can help -- sign up using the link below, and we're happy to sign for service hours.

We will enter all of our volunteers in a drawing for some great prizes, and if you complete two or more shifts, you'll be entered in the drawing that many times! The drawing will take place after the races.

P.R.O.P.E.L. is an event curated specifically for entrepreneurs and founders looking to grow, scale, learn, and connect their business to the Rocket City. Our small business department is working hard to make this event worth your while and we hope you can help us spread the word!

Right now, we're looking for entrepreneurs to participate in the pitch competition on October 27th. This is for startup entrepreneurs in a tech based industry who are in need of capital and partnerships to scale their business/product. Applications to participate are open now through Sept. 11!

Huntsville is on track to host the largest paracycling championships in history this September! We are asking the community to come out and support this event in a number of ways.

Companies ➡ Bring your employees out to cheer on the athletes or donate a prize to our volunteer prize drawing!

General public ➡ We have roughly 150 remaining spots left to volunteer for the event. We are mostly in need for Sunday and Monday's races, which are some of the more exciting days! Use the link below to sign up today. And if volunteering isn't your thing, come out and cheer along the race course. Bring signs, chairs, coolers, etc. and watch these elite athletes compete for qualifying spots in the LA '28 Games.

Exciting news! With 49 countries and 388 athletes coming to Huntsville very soon, our upcoming Paracycling Road World Championships are on track to be the largest paracycling championships in history! Please join us in Cummings Research Park Sept. 4-7.

We still need to fill about 150 volunteer shifts, especially for course marshals on Sun & Mon, Sept. 6-7. Those will be the road race days which can be very thrilling to watch!
