Sixty years ago, the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers established an important global standard for recognizing and supporting the teaching profession.

This year’s theme, “Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures,” reminds us that supporting teachers means addressing the challenges they face while recognizing the vital role they play in our communities.

At Seven Pearls Foundation, Inc., we believe it takes a village to raise a child and a community to support those who educate them.

The Seven of '1922' were educators who recognized this and dedicated their lives to ensuring students in their communities had the tools to meet success.

Through In Front of the Class, a PearlNitiative™ of Seven Pearls Foundation, we honor, support and invest in educators. Because when we uplift teachers, we strengthen students, families and entire communities.

Today, we celebrate the educators who continue to show up, lead and make a difference.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. stands with survivors, honors those whose lives have been lost to domestic violence, and remains committed to promoting safety, healing, and accountability.
Domestic violence is not always physical. Abuse can take many forms, including emotional, psychological, financial, and digital abuse. This month, we encourage our communities to turn awareness into action:

• Know the signs and share trusted resources.
• Create a safety plan and check in on someone you care about.
• Keep these confidential, 24/7 resources available: Call 1-800-799-SAFE (7233), text START to 88788, or visit The Hotline to chat online. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
• Share this message to remind someone that they are seen, believed, and supported.

Our legacy is service. Our commitment is to stand with survivors and support safer, healthier communities.
