Excited to see Huntsville’s own Dr. Osterman featured on The Black Canon and GIA Publications. She is a treasure to us here at GHAGO!

What sparks a lifetime of making music? 🎶

For Dr. Eurydice V. Osterman, it began as a child—seeing an organist play with her feet and feeling the first seed of a musical calling take root.

In a new Composer Spotlight from The Black Canon, Dr. Osterman shares the stories behind her remarkable journey as an organist, educator, and composer: the mentors who shaped her, the unexpected moment she wrote her very first song, the artists who influenced her musical voice, and the inspiration behind beloved works including Alleluia, Pentecost, and Psalm 23.

Meet the person behind the music—and discover the experiences that helped shape one of today’s important voices in sacred and concert music. ⬇️
