🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Hope Starts with Action 🎀
This October, we join the fight against breast cancer and honor the survivors, those currently in treatment, those living with metastatic disease, and the loved ones we have lost.
Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the United States, with about 1 in 8 women expected to develop breast cancer during their lifetime. The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 321,000 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2026, and more than 42,000 women will lose their lives to the disease.
The good news is that progress is being made. Thanks to advances in early detection, research, and treatment, breast cancer death rates have declined by 44% since 1989, helping save hundreds of thousands of lives.
For more than a century, the American Cancer Society has been leading the fight against cancer through: ✅ Funding groundbreaking breast cancer research
✅ Providing free patient support and navigation services
✅ Offering rides to treatment through Road To Recovery®
✅ Providing lodging through Hope Lodge® for patients traveling for care
✅ Advocating for policies that improve access to lifesaving screenings and treatment
When you support Hope Gala Huntsville, you help advance the mission of the American Cancer Society and bring hope to patients and families facing cancer right here in our communities.
