ANVOO HSV - Alabama Non-Violent Offenders Organization

ANVOO HSV - Alabama Non-Violent Offenders Organization Ex-offenders find it difficult to secure such employment due to employers having a resistance to hiring employees with a criminal record.

ANVOO-HSV is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to...

Closing doors from the past to open windows of opportunity for a brighter future! The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADC) maintains that the key factor affecting ex-offenders during re-entry is their inability to successfully access and secure resources. The ADC has said that when ex-offenders are properly reintegra

ted into society, they have a better chance of “maintaining a crime-free quality of life.”
In order to realize successful reintegration, ex-offenders often must overcome severe obstacles such as securing legitimate employment. Ex-offenders also find it difficult to obtain housing, participate in the electoral process, and adapt to an ever-changing environment. ANVOO addresses these needs and gives non-violent offenders a second chance by providing key services that will help them maintain their crime-free lifestyle and become productive citizens.

Today we are incredibly grateful to the Madison County Commission for officially proclaiming April 2026 as Second Chance Month in Madison County.

This proclamation is more than words on paper, it is a powerful statement that our community believes in redemption, restoration, and the dignity of every person. It shines a light on the importance of supporting individuals returning home, removing barriers, and creating real opportunities for second chances.

To those working behind the scenes, advocates, ministries, nonprofits, and community leaders, this recognition reflects your tireless efforts to bring hope and change.

Second chances strengthen families, build safer communities, and remind us all that people are more than their past.

Thank you, Madison County Commission, for standing with us and helping move this mission forward.

There are moments when simply showing up can change a life… this is one of them.

Join us for the Annual Jail & Prison Ministry Second Chance Prayer Breakfast—a morning centered on hope, restoration, and the belief that every person deserves another chance.

Behind every “returning citizen” is a real story—of struggle, resilience, and the courage to start again. This event is about standing in that gap and reminding people they are not forgotten.

We are honored to welcome Guest Speaker Pastor Errol Davis (New Beginning Christian Church, Huntsville, AL), who brings over 30 years of ministry experience walking alongside individuals on their journey toward restoration. His message will be one you don’t want to miss.
