January 2024 Message from the 2024 ASQ Huntsville Section Voice of the Customer Chair Mallorie S. Edwards:
Please help us collect data to improve the ASQ Huntsville Section by filling out the anonymous January 2024 Voice of the Customer Survey!
I will bring your feedback to the Section Leadership Committee Meetings and speak of your behalf. I feel the biggest challenge of 2023 as the 2023 Programs Chair was the high number of no shows (people that would RSVP and not show up). I will communicate the anonymous feedback from these surveys in the Newsletter and I will change up the survey every month with current challenges, feedback requests, etc. My goal is to have the Newsletter and survey sent out by the 14th of each month and give members until the end of that month to respond. Since I take over as Voice of the Customer 1/1/2024 I will leave this survey open until 1/31/2024 and have the results reflected in the February 2024 Newsletter.

We would love to hear your thoughts or feedback on how we can improve your experience!

Bob Brandofino will be ASQ Huntsville Section's November 14th Meeting Guest Speaker.
5:30pm Central Time Networking will begin.
6:00pm Central Time someone from the ASQ Huntsville Section Board will give an update on the Section and then Bob Brandofino will begin his lecture on Really Being Agile (Scrum).

Topic Summary:
As we are directed to be "Agile", many practitioners do not fully employ the basic mindset of Scrum, that the founder Jeff Sutherland envisioned for this Rapid Application Development (RAD)/Program Management Tool set. In fact, while deploying only a tick sheet aspect to Scrum, flavored with their own Environmental, Cultural and Market responsive Waterfall processes, many organizations will declare little return on this huge investment of resources to this methodology.

Speaker Bio:
Bob's twenty-seven year career expands from work with America Online (AOL) and Bell Atlantic Internet Solutions (BAIS now Verizon) to the Department of Defense (globally), U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC), the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Future Warfare Center (SMDC/FWC), Lockheed Martin, Apache Helicopter, as well as Finance M&T & BBVA Banks, Edward Jones (EDJ) and healthcare Anthem (Medicare), United Healthcare Group (Affordable Care Act) support his Program/Project Management and Agile CSM-CSPO-SAFe RTE/STE Coaching experiences.
He has an active Secret Clearance and is a member of the EDM Council, which is a leading advocate for the development and implementation of Data Standards, Best Practices and comprehensive Training for DCAM and FIBO.

Mallorie Edwards will be ASQ Huntsville Section's September Meeting Guest Speaker.
5:30pm Networking
6:00pm ASQ Huntsville Section update and Lecture to follow.

Lecture Summary:
Genealogy Research requires a significant amount of Data Analysis. You utilize primary sources, secondary sources, and dig to find evidence to support your hypothesis. If you are lucky you can utilize DNA Data to provide support for your hypothesis calculating the statistical probability based on Centimorgans. Mallorie will be explaining what Data Analysis is performed when analyzing Genealogy Data and how to use statistics to calculate your hypothesis using Centimorgans from DNA matches.

The Lecture will go over two Case Studies. One will leave you feeling confident of your hypothesis, and the other will require more digging until you reach a conclusion.
