Tires negatively impact water quality. They are frequently discarded in the environment by individuals or companies trying to avoid small tire disposal fees (usually around $5 per tire). Tires have to be shredded at a special facility before going into a landfill, hence the disposal fee.

The cave shrimp — 2025’s Cave Animal of the Year — is a federally protected species. Only nine species have been described in the U.S. These small, eyeless scavengers live in underground rivers, cave pools, and deep groundwater aquifers, including those in Alabama.

What do you think will be named Cave Animal of the Year next?

You know the field.
You know the pavilion.
You know the feeling.

SCCi's Homecoming Fundraiser Weekend is bringing us back to the Little River Property — the former TAG Fall Cave-In site — for a weekend of camping, caving, music, and community.

For 35 years, SCCi has connected people to the places they love and to each other. Homecoming is a celebration of that legacy.

Here’s what’s waiting for you:

🕳️ Caving all weekend in TAG
🏕️ Camping with old friends and new faces
🎶 Saturday night bluegrass/Americana jam in the pavilion
🍽️ Saturday buffet dinner (only 100 tickets available — don’t wait)

And yes — we’re stepping up the fundraiser game:

🎟️ A HUGE raffle with killer prizes
🏆 Several high-value auction items you’ll actually want to win

Whether you’re coming for nostalgia, the music, the raffle, or the mission, this weekend is about showing up for the people and the places that shaped this community.

Thanks to Inner Mountain Outfitters for their sponsorship. They'll be there too, so get your gear updated.

Members and their guests only.
Annual Members Meeting: Saturday 10–11 AM (free if attending just the meeting).

Come back. Camp out. Raise some money.
