This past month, a few of our caregivers moved on to new opportunities and have ended their amazing service to the kids of Ibonde. We appreciate everything these caregivers have done for the kids and the impact they will forever have on their lives. We are sad to see them go, but are happy for their future opportunities and pray that God guides and protects them on their journeys. Thank you Jackie, Doreen and Nyangoma for all your hard work and commitment to the kids!

We have started a new campaign for our outreach donations! We wanted to also serve the children and caregivers in the local villages in our Ugandan communities. There are many disabled in these communities so we have decided to start this effort by focusing funds on purchasing wheelchairs until every child and caregiver in these villages are up off the dirt. We were able to provide 3 wheelchairs so far and raised enough for another wheelchair this past month. The smiling boy’s name, in the first and second picture, is Emmanuel Innocent Kisembo (means gift in rutooro-the local language). Thank you all for the donations, as these wheelchairs make a big difference with the quality of life and daily activities of the kids and caregivers!

We are so excited to share with you some of our items that we purchased with our celebration fund. For Easter the children asked for some sports gear and then had a big soccer match! We also had enough to purchase some sodas as well. Thank you to all those who donated. We love seeing the children thrive and not just survive.

HE IS RISEN! Happy Easter to you all! As we strive to follow Christ’s example to take care of the helpless, we know that none of this could be done without the sacrifice and most importantly the resurrection of our Lord, Christ Jesus. We hope you have a wonderful Lord’s Day and thanks be to God, that He loved us all so much to send His only Son to die and be raised again.

Meet Lydia!

Lydia has been a close friend of ours and has been joining us on our weekly bible study for the past few years! She has been giving generously to Nyayo for some time now and joined our mission trip group this last October to help the kids! She was a group leader for some of our kids the week we were there and shared the word of God in bible lessons, and even taught the kids some amazing worship songs! When we got back from Uganda, we asked her if she would be interested in helping share various content we post on our newsletters and website onto our Nyayo Instagram. She agreed and now helps create content which helps update those who follow us on these social media platforms. Thank you so much Lydia, you’re awesome!

Our first Nyayo fundraiser was a success, and it was only made possible by the outpouring of support we received from our community, friends and families.

We spent the evening hearing about the origin of Nyayo, learning about new plans going forward, trying an authentic Irish meal (provided by the McKenna family!), tasting the signature Nyayo Lager (created by and ), and participating in a silent auction!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Nyayo! We look forward to the next event and, in the meantime, stop by BeezR while the Nyayo Lager is still available! $1 of each pint sold will go towards the washing machine project! “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Our Nyayo kids in Bubandi village have been praying this verse for everyone who has impacted their lives. They wish you joy, peace, prosperity and God’s favor over you and your family.

Our main goal as Nyayo is to “….Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.” ‭‭(Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬‭)

We are training our children in such away that when they grow they will not depart from God’s footprints.

Come join us for Nyayo Night at Beezr for our first ever fundraiser on Sunday, March 19th!

We have partnered with Chandlers Ford Brewing at Beezr to create "Nyayo Lager", a clone of Guiness Harp lager. They will be selling the beer on our behalf with a dollar from each beer sold going to a Nyayo project of the Chandlers Ford Brewing’s choosing. We would love for you to come celebrate with us if you’re in the area! The McKenna family also plans to provide St. Patrick's day dinner fixings for their guests. Address will be provided below!

Our Nyayo kids have started their prayer week themed from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
‭‭Our kids continue to hunger for God and live with the right thankful attitude.
They have also been training on how to use and work with different platforms and aspects of our social network.

On October 23, 2022 our little group had landed in Uganda, caught up on some sleep, then headed to Ibonde to spend some time with the children and caretakers. We had no clue what this trip had in store for us, but looking back, we knew that all the planning, the anxiety, and the love we had for our mission would be worth meeting the ones, most of us for the first time, we’ve been praying for and helping for years. This trip meant so much to us, we can’t wait to show you more of our journey!

As Nyayo continues to grow each year, Michael, Gordon and Hunter continue to learn new ways of becoming more efficient as an organization. We have had quite a few volunteers help us with various tasks throughout the years and want to show our appreciation for them and their hard work!

Meet Christan!

Christan has been attending our Nyayo Bible studies weekly for some time now and even joined us on our mission trip this past October where she did a great job helping with the caregivers and kids! Christan also has a lot of experience and knowledge with excel and has been helping us improve our financial reports by organizing data to create new visuals as well as creating more automation within our excel spreadsheet. We want to thank Christan for all the hard work she has put into Nyayo thus far and all the work that she continues to put in as well! We truly appreciate her!

This past month, we updated our website with a page dedicated to our kids of Ibonde and Jinja Children’s Home! While our team was down in Uganda this past October, we wanted to ensure that we created name tags for each kid so that we could introduce them to our donors and followers of Nyayo.

Thanks to the hardwork of our volunteers, we were able to add two more webpages underneath the “Our Kids” tab! After hovering the "Our Kids” tab, you will see two pages, one labeled Ibonde Kids and the other Jinja Kids, where you can find photos and descriptions of each kid according to the homes they belong to.
