Justice for Ernie Pulley

Justice for Ernie Pulley We're advocating for Ernie Pulley's exoneration after crucial evidence was excluded from court.

One could wonder if the phone call that was made from the Hopkins home to adopted son Doyle, also known as Butch, on February 1, 1991, in California. Was Marvin Holley calling to let Leamon's adoptive son know what was about to happen? If the timeline of the crime was 8:30 to 9:45, why did the state witness, who said Pulley never left the house throughout the entire investigation, until well after 11:00 p.m. to retrieve his wife's items from a convenience store? A neighbor down the way corroborated and testified that he saw Pulley at the store shortly before closing time at 12:00. Why would the defense never question or dispute this info? I'll tell you why: one did no trial prep and worked for the District Attorney's office in co-defendant's case, and the other came on thirty days before the last trial, doing very little trial prep, pushing a "15 do 10" plea deal, referring to family members as idiots for not helping con an innocent man into a guilty plea. 🤔

I sure hope that the plans for the next courthouse have Pulley's case in mind, knowing that a retired military Vietnam veteran, who has never been in trouble a day in his life and actually backed the blue 100%, spoke to Pulley's attorneys and told them that when the judge sent the jury, who was deadlocked, back to deliberate and for no one to leave the courtroom, those rules didn't apply to the assistant district attorney prosecuting the case. In fact, he was seen leaving the jury room and not the bathroom next to it. It must've been designed without prosecutor misconduct in mind. His excuse when asked, with his back turned to the judge and one hand in the air, was, "He went to the urinal, your honor." Why would a judge or Pulley's attorneys investigate more into the allegations? Why was the only witness that was heard incarcerated, Child Ra**st released from prison, and granted immunity to lie in coerced testimony?

I got a message today from someone who posted on a page. This person posted on a person's page who works for MCSO, and is campaigning for Sheriff Turner and was talking smack about Brett Jones and making comments on Flock cameras. Brett Jones is also campaigning. The person just wrote Transparency, imagine having cameras watching them. Even though we agree we can't have cameras everywhere for safety and sensitive info, I think the point was they don't want cameras on them. Citizens don't want cameras on us either, But it blows my mind that he would say the person was trolling his page. Well his page is public I think trolling would be saying, "Has anyone seen the video or pics of the unofficial meeting held at HGFD after the FBI got involved in a certain incident in Madison County?" Or, "Has anyone else been sent a pic of their package?" That's trolling, and reckless would be a then-married man sending unwanted pics in sweatpants that say "sheriff association" on them. Individuals responsible for promoting this page are not fabricating a narrative; rather, they are substantiating factual evidence. This is a matter of truth. We have consistently stated that one can support law enforcement without condoning corruption, and one can address significant miscarriages of justice without abandoning the judicial system. However, given the continued involvement of certain individuals in social media and a particular campaign, I understand the existing resistance.

"While it’s nice that local businesses can drop off food to show support, it's very frustrating to see what actually gets acknowledged by this department. There are plenty of good people in this community who might not be in a position to bring in donuts and pizzas, but who try to support law enforcement by bringing actual cases and concerns to your attention. We brought a real case to you that was completely ignored and never acknowledged. Why is it that dropping off food gets a public 'thank you,' but citizens trying to help keep the community safe by reporting real issues get entirely overlooked?"

A big thank-you to Ace and Ashley Herman with Green Earth Landscaping & Lawn Care for stopping by roll call this week and bringing donuts and pizzas for our deputies and detectives. The food was certainly appreciated, but the support behind it meant even more. It’s always encouraging to know there are good people in our community who think about the men and women working every day to keep Madison County safe.

Ace and Ashley, thank you for your kindness and for taking care of our team. We truly appreciate you!

Pulley passed three state-administered polygraphs that were took voluntarily, along with DNA evidence. Let's not forget the doctor's testimony and time-stamped transcripts. Pulley was in a cast, making him physically incapable of committing the crime, and the co-defendant passed a polygraph with no knowledge of the crime.

Jeanne Rizzardi is already showing her stance on transparency and backing the blue, as seen on Facebook, and is friends with the sheriff. But the bigger question is how corrupt the courts will be with a wife as district judge and a husband as circuit judge in Madison County. How can the courts be fair and unbiased to the stranger, also known as the citizen?

Thought of the day: We tried to retrieve case files from MCSO and were met with resistance from The Madison County Attorney, who stated we would need a subpoena. Lo and behold, Pulley went down a rabbit hole and located the paperwork we were looking for, along with polygraph test results and DNA test results. We will also be posting these here. 🕵️‍♀️📜
