If you’re protesting, be careful!
BREAKING: Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were fatally shot and a second lawmaker and his spouse were injured in separate "politically motivated" shootings at their homes in eastern Minnesota, officials said.
The suspect is still at large and on foot, authorities said.
Gov. Tim Walz said the attack appears to be "targeted political violence."
State Sen. John Hoffman of Champlin and his wife, Yvette, were injured. The conditions of the Hoffmans was not immediately available. Both lawmakers were members of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party.
