Bundle up!
Looks like a lovely afternoon for a Pride Hike! See you at the entrance to Red Rocks Park at 1 pm.
LGBTQA+ hikers are gathering in January to explore the trails of Red Rocks Park in South Burlington. This gem of a park is located right on the shores of Lake Champlain. We'll plan to do an easy, accessible hike on a two mile loop which winds through wetlands, forests, and spectacular rocky ledges and viewpoints. We will have plenty of options for the length, direction, and difficulty of our adventure. After our hike we'll warm up with beverages at The Great Northern on Pine Street.
All ages, allies, and families welcome! Youth under 18 years should be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed.
Johnny Chagnon of GLAM Vermont at the Pride Center of Vermont and Gwendolyn Causer of Audubon Vermont will co-lead the hike to provide birding, botany, hiking, and tracking tidbits.
Trail/accessibility information: Our walk will be at an easy pace and will cover less than 2 miles. We are very flexible about the trails we choose based upon the needs of the group. The trails are wide and on a base of crushed rock, but they might be snowy or icy depending upon the recent weather.
