VOLUNTEER WORK...

Today, we continued our effort to keep our neighborhood clean. The guys in Phase II picked up trash up 7th Avenue and back down 6th Avenue. This will be a continued effort by The Lifehouse and our residents to give back to the city we love so much.

GIVING BACK....

We love our community and our residents wanted to volunteer to clean up Huntington today. If we ALL pitch in and help, we can make OUR city shine. People only see one side or addiction... this is the other side... RECOVERY!!

Amen!!

RECOVERY IS REAL !!

There is a BIG debate in Huntington right now about homelessnes. While we, at The Lifehouse, neither support nor oppose either view, what we can say is that RECOVERY IS REAL. The picture on the left is of a guy who came to us three years ago homeless, broken, and at his rock bottom. He surrendered and admitted he was an addict and his life had to change. Like we do with countless others who come to us homeless, we helped him. He worked a thorough, honest program and we were able to have a small part in his recovery journey.

The picture on the right is of the Executive Director of Lifehouse, James P. Hoffsted (same guy). Now, he is in a position to help others and give back what was so freely given to him. You can say many things and have many views of homeless or addiction.... but we know RECOVERY IS REAL!!

... we were honest in ALL of our affairs!!

If you get sober and refuse to be honest in all of your affairs, you are just wasting good get high time. Quitting drugs cleanses your body, being honest cleanses your soul. Be honest in all of your affairs because half measures avail us NOTHING!!

GIVING BACK....

After the devastating floods in McDowell and the surrounding area, The Lifehouse wanted to give back to this community who was in real need of help. Recovery is all about helping others and that is surely what we pride ourselves on. Thank you Wayne Bachelor and Jimmy Cline for organizing this event and for all the guys who helped out today. ❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

Today, we had two of our alumni lose everything in a house fire. John and Cheryl Holley are two of our greatest people who have always given back to the community, tonight, they fine themselves as the ones in need.
