🦅 It's Bald Eagle nesting season! Help us ensure the continued success of Vermont's Bald Eagles by giving them the space they need to nest!
Right now, Bald Eagle parents need to focus on feeding and protecting their young. While there are no formal closures around Vermont Bald Eagle nests, staying at least a quarter of a mile away from a nest tree is crucial. Any disturbance puts the chicks at risk and is against the law! Retreat immediately if the adult eagles are reacting to your presence—even if it's just looking your way. Frequent disturbances, even minor ones, can cause a nest to fail.
You can report any nest site disturbances to Vermont Fish & Wildlife or Audubon Vermont Conservation Biologist Margaret Fowle ([email protected]). Thank you for helping us protect this sensitive bird species!
