Cabell County showed up BIG for Save a Life Day 2026! Harmony House was honored to be part of it.

Together, our community distributed 1,837 naloxone kits countywide, including 59 kits from Harmony House. Every kit represents a chance to save a life, support a neighbor, and improve community health.

From new distribution sites to mobile outreach teams, this year proved what happens when Cabell County comes together with compassion and purpose. We’re grateful to stand alongside so many incredible partners in this work.

Harmony House is hosting an open hiring event for two Engagement Specialists for our Day Shelter.

Engagement Specialists play a key role in welcoming guests, supporting daily shelter operations, and connecting individuals experiencing homelessness with essential resources. This position is 37.5 hours per week with full benefits.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Greeting and signing in guests
• Building rapport with individuals experiencing homelessness
• Directing clients to community resources
• Overseeing shelter activities (showers, laundry, donations)
• Maintaining a clean, welcoming lobby and office
• Distributing food and hygiene items
• Supporting calm and order in the shelter
• Attending weekly and monthly meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Benefits:
Dental, health, vision, paid time off, parental leave
People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.

A pre‑employment drug screen is required.
Individuals with lived experience are encouraged to apply.

Big news: Tish and Waffles are officially housed!
They’re starting fresh and could use a few essentials to make their new place feel like home: a bike, small couch, kitchenware, hygiene items, TV, towels, washcloths, and cleaning supplies.

Waffles is also hoping for dog food, treats, and toys.
