The purpose of this page is to communicate with volunteers, promote opportunities to volunteers, express the need for volunteers with projects and events that need to be accomplished in the City of Huntington, and recognize individual's/group's hard work in accomplishing the projects, present matters of public interest concerning the City’s programs, activities, news stories, and photos. MarveloUS Monday!

Beacon Credit Union gave their Columbus Day holiday to our city and parks!

They spent the morning planting and mulching trees with our forester, Emily, and then, spent the afternoon with us spreading wood carpet at Slack and Hiers Parks!

Thank you so much for your service in our community. You made it more beautiful and safer for all of us!

For 2 hours, you will learn how to identify, remove, and treat invasives to keep them from coming back. Then, you can take that knowledge and skill home with you to do the same on your own property!

What a fun night we had!
Thank you all for showing up, eating dinner with us, and honoring our award-winners!
It was fun to see everyone connecting and chatting about the service projects they had worked on during this past year. And it's been a busy year!
From invasive removal to tree planting, from downtown artwork to flower watering, from construction projects to skatepark fundraising, from garden tending to tree mulching...we did it all!

We are so grateful for everyone who shows up and helps. It takes EVERYONE to make a community successful.

Let's make next year just as amazing, together!

Come join us this morning and plant trees along Henry Street!

Bring friends and family. Park at St. Peter's first community church and come over to the bike shop.

We have lunch at 12 noon and will send you out with shovels and gloves and supplies.

🌳 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Our biggest planting day for ‘Oaktober’ will be tomorrow — Saturday, October 3 — from noon to 2 p.m. We’ll be lining Henry Street with 100 new trees. Come meet us at 11:45 a.m. at Henry Street and Etna Avenue!

🎉 COMMUNITY CELEBRATION!
After the tree-planting, we’re throwing a community block party at the Huntington Drive-In Theater. Join your neighbors for a night of food, entertainment, activities and celebration. The movie ‘The Wild Robot’ will start at dusk. Admission is free for Huntington residents. Hope to see you there!

MarveloUS Monday!

Our community gardens are producing wonderful harvests this year! Our amazing gardener, Jennifer, over at our Kriegbaum Field Garden, says, "PLEASE come and pick some cherry tomatoes!"

She was there last night and things are looking good, but please head on over and help yourselves! Just park at the Learning Center and you will see the garden around back.

Thanks so much to all those who have helped at the gardens this summer!
