Our Fall 2026 Community Grant Cycle is officially open!

We always look forward to seeing the ideas and projects our local organizations are working on to serve our community, and we’re excited to see what this grant cycle brings.

Community Grant applications are open to eligible 501(c)(3) charities and other organizations that meet our charitable grant guidelines, with projects serving Boyd and Greenup counties in Kentucky, Cabell and Wayne counties in West Virginia, and Lawrence County, Ohio.

We’ve made a few updates to our grant guidelines this fall to provide more detail and clarity, so even if you’ve applied with us before, please take a few minutes to review the guidelines before getting started.

September is National Kinship Care Month! 🧡

❓ Did you know?

• Over 2.5 million children grow up in kinship families across the U.S.
• Kinship caregivers can be grandparents, aunts and/or uncles, siblings, extended family members, or “fictive kin” (close family friends).
• About 30% of children in foster care in the U.S. are placed with relatives.
• There are two types of kinship care: formal and informal. Formal kinship care involves the child welfare system or foster care, while informal kinship care involves private family arrangements without state custody.

Kinship caregivers play such an important role in providing children with stability, familiarity, and a sense of connection while helping minimize the trauma that can come with separation from their parents. ❤️‍🩹

This month, and every month, we recognize the kinship caregivers who stepped up — and continue to step up — for kiddos in need. Your strength, love, and compassion do not go unnoticed! 🫶🏽
