YMCA Camp Norwich

YMCA Camp Norwich Informing members of the HR YMCA Camp Norwich Community, including campers, parents and staff, about exciting events and projects going on at Camp Norwich!

YMCA Day Camp Norwich has been inviting campers to share the summer with since 1896. Camp Norwich has provided quality programs in a caring family environment. A session at Norwich offers many exciting opportunities for growth, joy, and discovery in a noncompetitive and highly supervised small-group atmosphere. Our Norwich program takes place on a beautiful facility encompassing 137 acres of lake,

woods, and fields in the foothills of the Berkshires. Groups of 10 to 12 same-age campers with two counselors spend the day together. Inclusion in these groups encourages children to experience new and diverse age-appropriate activities. These activities are a tool to help campers develop self-confidence, teamwork, an appreciation for the outdoors, creativity, and pride in themselves and their newly learned skills. Camp Norwich is proud of its high quality staff members, who provide expert leadership, guidance, and friendship. Our staff supports each other to help each camper reach his or her fullest potential in skill development as well as social and personal growth. During their stay, all campers experience and receive instruction in:
• Daily swim lessons and free swim time
• Canoeing
• Athletics
• Archery
• Kayaking
• Arts and crafts
• Drama and music
• Fishing
• Teambuilding
• Environmental education
• Group games
• Disc golf
