We're having a great time today at our 2nd Annual BTR (Building Trauma-Responsive Communities) Advocacy Summit. It's been a beautiful day uniting members from all sectors of the community in search of ways we can improve our community response to trauma.

Huge thanks to Mountwest CTC for hosting the event and to the Pallottine Foundation of Huntington for supporting this initiative.

An enormous thank you to the Women’s Club of Huntington for their consistent support of survivors and acknowledgement of domestic violence awareness month.

Last month, these ladies generously contributed to our Meals on a Mission program, providing dinner for 22 clients! They are truly the embodiment of a group that puts their values into their actions. Thanks for always supporting our life-saving mission!

We love being out and about in our community during Domestic Violence Awareness Month--especially at the annual Veterans Stand Down event!! This tabling event is such a great opportunity to provide domestic violence resources and service information to veterans in our community.

And of course, shoutout to Branches advocate, Licia, for styling it in violet in support of domestic violence survivors this month!

We just want to issue a HUGE thank-you to YOU for voting for us in the Target Circle app! Target guests cast 22,704 votes for Branches Domestic Violence Shelter, resulting in a grant of $3,051.98!

We're so thankful we'll be able to use these funds to support our life-saving mission and to help survivors of domestic violence recover into a life free from violence. So thank you for every vote, every share, and every dollar donated!

We're so EXCITED about the Huntington High School Future Business Leaders of America joining us for the 2026 BTR Communities Advocacy Summit. On Thursday, they'll be providing a workshop discussing with local employers the future they'd like to see for workplaces that support survivors & make our community better. All through the month of October, they're showing their commitment to helping survivors by creating awareness materials, fundraising & even amplifying the voices of survivors.

It's officially Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we're so excited about how strongly our community is showing out for the cause this year.

There are so many ways to get involved in DVAM, not only to simply raise awareness but to help us raise funds for our life-saving mission. Branches serves survivors every single day, so we hope that you'll join us in lifting up their voices every day of October.

Our Director of Development joined fellow advocates at the WV Housing Conference today to provide training on Building Trauma Responsiveness into Services. As part of our continued BTR Communities efforts, we’re dedicated to sharing this work and helping to build safer communities for all of us, especially survivors of domestic violence.
