WEEK 2

We’ve been talking about the weight of our words, the words we speak, the words spoken over us, and ultimately, whose voice gets the authority to define our lives.

But this isn’t just a conversation for students.

Parents, Guardians, and families…our words are helping shape the atmosphere of our homes and the identity of the next generation. What we say matters. What they hear matters. And the voice we teach them to listen to matters.

So tonight, We want to bring the whole family into the conversation.

IO visits one of our local nursing homes every quarter? Yesterday we did just that! Our students and leaders spent the afternoon with local residents with worship, word, and fellowship. WORDS HAVE WEIGHT.

They’ve started wars and ended them.
Built relationships and destroyed them.
Created hope and caused wounds.
Changed minds, changed lives, and changed generations.

We throw words around like they’re weightless, but Scripture tells us life and death are in the power of the tongue.

Words matter.

The words spoken to you.
The words spoken about you.
The words spoken over you.
And the words that come out of you.

Over the next few weeks at IO, we’re going to discover just how much power can be carried in something as simple as what we say.

Because once a word leaves your mouth, it may only take a second to say…

but it can carry weight for a lifetime.
