Plum was rescued in Spain and brought to the US by GG. She was adopted by her mom here on Long Island before she even left Spain. Sadly, she became ill rather quickly and Plum could use all of our help. If you can support this GFM, that would be great. If you can’t, please consider sharing. In fact, share regardless. Thank you.

It breaks my heart to have to share this news. Things are not looking good. I hate to have to ask for help but you all know how much the hospital is overnight and they are saying it could be for two weeks, if she makes it that long. They do not even know if she will make it. She is critical. Praying tomorrow's blood work shows some improvement or is not any worse! The leish is the least of my worries right now. Her kidneys!! I was told she is in "grave" condition.

I adopted Plum, a 3-year-old Spanish Mastin, from Spain earlier this year. She had never experienced life in a home before, and my daughter Lauren fostered her in Madrid until she could join us here in the U.S. Unfortunately, Plum tested positive for Leishmania, a disease common in parts of Europe but not here. This disease has now become active, attacking her kidneys and putting her in renal failure.
Plum is currently hospitalized and receiving 24/7 care, but she needs to be transferred to a specialized facility where she can get the intensive treatment she requires. The costs are overwhelming, and I am struggling financially after losing my job. I have done everything I can to help her, but she is in critical condition, and I cannot bear the thought of losing her.
Any funds donated will go directly to her care, including medications, testing, and specialized food. Plum deserves a chance at life, and I hope you can help us during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and support.
Best,
Sheryl and my Plum

This was Plum at the vet. She was trying to hide under the counter. How can a hundred pound dog get under there? I don't know. Poor baby was so scared but so cute.
