Our Annual Holiday Wish Granting is well on its way thanks to so many wonderful friends and supporters. We’ve “adopted a few local families as well as a local early intervention center for low income families and a few children whose parents are going through personal struggles. Thank you so much for Karla’s Kompanions biggest supporters. Thanks to you, children who otherwise would not have had school supplies can now feel better about the first week of school. It’s that time of year again. Yes in other parts of the country school has been in session. And on Long Island some districts started today. But the rest and many other regions don’t start until after Labor Day.

While many families are on vacay enjoying the last Summer vacay days with their loved ones, other families are struggling and worrying how they will have what they need for school. If we donate supplies though, even if a day or two after school has started, they will go from not having much or anything they need to having some or all that they need, and that is very helpful!

Karla’s Kompanions is holding our 3rd Annual Back to School Supply Drive to assist local families with school aged children who otherwise can not afford supplies. The following are items most needed/requested. (We will be filling backpacks and lunch boxes so including them would help but is not necessary).

Marble Notebooks
Pens
Pencils
Pencil Cases
Thermal Lunch Bags
Binders
Rulers
Markers
Crayons
Folders
Erasers/Sharpeners
Pre Packaged School Snacks

Many of these items can be found at great prices at places like Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Five Below, etc. Staples usually has a lot of great sales right now too (that’s where I got SO much last year!) If you need me to pick up from you or would like me to pick up the items when I shop please let me know.

Dear friends of Karla’s companions and Meals Of Meaning., we went from months and months of planning to we’re almost here! We do need a little more help as we get near, providing these children, single moms veterans seniors, etc. with a beautiful luncheon surrounded by community.
We need a few more monetary donations to help us finish getting the decorations, some more food items, and some activities and gifts for the children.
Also, if you know anyone that would benefit from this luncheon, please send them our way as we do still have some seats available. Lastly, if you know anyone that has a restaurant, food truck, or any type of food and beverage establishment, and would be able to help donate bread, salad, appetizers, beverages, desserts or side dishes please let us know.
If you have a business, and like to provide any logo items that we can put in their gift bags as well Please message me.

So excited we are getting participants signing up for our inaugural Thanksgiving Luncheon! Please if you know someone that would like to attend/benefit from this event please have them reach out to me soon as seats are limited and we don’t want them to miss out. Single parents, Veterans, seniors, teens coming out of foster care, anyone who may be otherwise alone at the holidays or unable to have a holiday meal for themselves or their family. Please let them know about this wonderful community event. 🧡💛🤎

My brother is collecting clothes-especially winter gear, undergarments, warm clothes, etc to donate with one of the grouos he works with. If you have anything for me to pickup this week please let me know.
