This month, PRPSN was honored in two meaningful ways.💙✨

On May 16, our team participated in a Take Action outreach event in Altadena supporting survivors of the Eaton Canyon fire. PRPSN was presented with a Certificate of Recognition from Senator Sasha Renee Perez. We are grateful to have stood alongside community partners and honored to accept this recognition on behalf of the work we do together. 🙌

We are also proud to celebrate our Spanish Language Programs, El Centrito de Apoyo and Un Paso Más. On May 12, the Huntington Park City Council recognized National Older Americans Month with a special proclamation honoring El Centrito de Apoyo for its meaningful work supporting older adults in our community. 💐

These recognitions belong to every staff member, volunteer, peer, and community member who helps make this work possible.

Sun, smiles, and community joy 🌞💛 Our El Centrito team had such a beautiful time last week out at the Festival del Niño community fair! ✨

We donated a few gifts for the raffle (because who doesn’t love a good surprise 🎁), connected with community members, and shared more about the support and resources we offer every day.

and a special appearance from one of our peer’s little one who came along and made the day even more fun 🥹💛

Over the past three years, PRPSN has been an integral partner in the building of Empowermind alongside the South Central Wellness Collaborative. We are deeply grateful for the committee’s dedication and vision in creating a space where we can uplift our services and give back to the community.

From connection to culture, every moment mattered: especially seeing our Folklórico dance team share the beauty of dance as a form of wellness and healing. 💃🏽✨

Community. Culture. Wellness. This is what it’s all about. 💛

Sharing a glimpse of creativity and connection through peer support🎨✨

Our Manualidades (Arts & Crafts) group has been hard at work, and we’re proud to showcase some of the beautiful pieces created by our members.

We also had a special visit from our little friend Bella 🐾 she made the day even brighter—she stopped by to say hello and spread a little extra warmth.

We’re proud to share that our Hacienda of Hope peer staff member, Miguel, was recently featured in a Goodwill commercial highlighting his journey through re-entry and growth.

In his story, Miguel speaks to the power of taking ownership of his life and the role peer support has played in his recovery. His words are a reminder that healing is not linear…but it is possible when people are met with trust and community support.✨

Miguel’s journey led him from the Goodwill program to Hacienda of Hope, where he now gives back as a peer, supporting others on their own paths. His story also highlights something we see every day: meaningful work is a key ingredient in recovery.

We’re proud to share that our 2026 Strategic Plan is fully in motion💫

At PRPSN, strategy isn’t decided behind closed doors. It’s shaped by the voices and vision of our staff…the people closest to the work. Every priority we’re stepping into and every change we’ll implement over the next year comes directly from those who show up for our community every day.

This is what it looks like when lived experience leads🙌🏽🥳

100% staff-driven. Taking charge… together💛

Today we celebrate our incredible Occupational Therapy interns from University of Southern California on their last day with us💛

Meet Cassandra and Nancy, two bright souls who spent the last 9 weeks with us in our Spanish language programs. This was their very first fieldwork experience, they shared how welcomed and embraced they felt by the center.

They loved facilitating their own groups, creating meaningful check-ins centered around feelings, color expression, and gratitude. They opened the door for deeper connection, reflection, and healing with our members.

As native Spanish speakers, Cassandra and Nancy also navigated the unique experience of supporting within a fully Spanish-speaking center which they described as an experience that deepened their cultural connection and strengthened peer engagement in powerful ways.

“The peer interaction was amazing.” And we couldn’t agree more.

Thank you, Cassandra and Nancy, for pouring into this space. Your impact will be felt long after your time here. We’re excited to see all that you continue to do 💫
