A Legacy of Mentorship Since 2017

One of the most meaningful programs at Finding Something More is our Mentorship Program.

Since 2017, women from all walks of life have come together to encourage, support, and learn from one another through meaningful mentor and mentee relationships.

What began as a simple idea—that no woman should have to navigate life’s challenges alone—has grown into years of connection, encouragement, and personal growth.

These photographs represent just a few of the women who have participated in this journey over the years.

Every photo tells a story of someone who gave, someone who received, and often two women whose lives were forever changed by the relationship they built together.

We are grateful for every mentor, every mentee, and every life touched along the way.

June always feels like a shift in energy to me — longer days, fuller calendars, and more opportunities to gather, reconnect, and reflect on what truly matters.

As we approach the midpoint of the year at Finding Something More, I find myself incredibly grateful for the women, relationships, conversations, and moments that continue to shape this community in such meaningful ways.

Over the past several months, we’ve watched new mentorship connections form, meaningful conversations unfold, and our 2026 Inspirational Woman of the Year nominees continue to inspire not only our organization, but one another.

And now, as we head into summer, we look forward to one of our favorite gatherings of the year — our This Is Us Mixer — an evening centered around connection, community, laughter, music, and celebrating the incredible women and supporters who make Finding Something More so special.

Meet the amazing team at Grandma’s House of Hope!

Since 2017, mentorship has been at the heart of Finding Something More. What began through our flagship mentorship program at Lydia House in Long Beach has grown into additional meaningful partnerships that continue to change lives.

In 2026 we accepted the invitation and honored to partner with Grandma’s House of Hope — an incredible Orange County organization providing emergency and transitional housing, wraparound care, and supportive services through more than 11 homes and programs serving vulnerable adults rebuilding their lives.

Through mentorship, encouragement, and community, we are proud to walk alongside the amazing staff and residents of Grandma’s House of Hope as we continue finding something more — together. 💜

Another meaningful afternoon launching our second 2026 mentorship session through Finding Something More in partnership with Grandma’s House of Hope.

Women from different walks of life gathered together with one purpose — to encourage, uplift, listen, learn, and walk alongside one another over the next several months.

We are grateful for every mentor, mentee, leader, and 2026 Inspirational Woman of the Year nominee who continues to pour into this growing community with compassion, wisdom, and heart.

Through this partnership, women at Grandma’s House of Hope are being connected with mentors from Finding Something More in a season centered around support, encouragement, personal growth, and meaningful connection.

We are looking forward to the journey ahead and the celebratory gathering that will bring everyone together at the completion of this mentorship season.

More to come in the weeks ahead.

I love seeing Finding Something More in action. 💛

Last week was a beautiful kickoff to our 2026 Mentorship Program at Clara’s House through our partnership with Grandma’s House of Hope.

Our nominees and Finding Something More team members showed up with open hearts, encouragement, and a willingness to invest in the lives of other women through mentorship.

We’re excited for our second mentorship launch beginning next Wednesday. Stay tuned for more moments ahead.

Not all purpose begins with a plan—sometimes it begins with something deeply personal. For Gila Kurtz, that inspiration came through her connection with her dog—an experience that ultimately led her to launch The Bolo Project and co-found Dog is Good, both rooted in purpose, connection, and heart.

What she shared wasn’t just about building something meaningful—it was about recognizing the moments in life that move us, and having the courage to follow them into something more. Gila’s presence is a reminder that when we pay attention to what matters most, it can lead to impact far beyond what we imagined.

Some journeys are shaped by challenges that most will never fully see. Jaime Dost shared with honesty and strength—reflecting on a childhood marked by deep hardship, and the path she chose to take forward. What stood out wasn’t just where she began, but how she has continued to rise with resilience, clarity, and purpose.

There is a quiet power in the way Jaime shows up today—steady, grounded, and committed to living a life that reflects growth rather than circumstance. Her presence is a reminder that what we walk through does not define us—but how we move forward can.

Some moments can’t be planned—only experienced.

At our Other Side Symposium, our muse, Karen, guided something unexpected—a children’s story created in real time by the room itself. One sentence at a time, each guest added a piece, and together, something meaningful began to take shape.

It was thoughtful, a little whimsical, and a beautiful reflection of what happens when women come together with openness and heart. Moments like this are what make Finding Something More so special.

Some moments in life leave a lasting imprint, quietly shaping who we become. Suzanne Iacono shared from a place of profound loss, and the way that experience shifted her life in ways both painful and transformative. What she carries forward is not just grief, but a depth of understanding, compassion, and intention that now touches the lives of others.

There is a sincerity in Suzanne’s presence that can’t be taught—it comes from walking through something difficult and choosing to remain open, grounded, and purposeful. She is a reminder that even in life’s most tender spaces, there is the possibility of meaning, connection, and impact.
