I have good intentions when the wind is fair to strong. I bring out my few strong wind slk's to fly, but my Shook Compass Rose mesh quad always ends up with the lion's share of my time on the field.

Low wind day. Devin was right. Putting a dime in the trailing edge spine pocket really does help Widow Pro get all the way around in a flat axel.
The green one is my experimental Suruga (sparred differently). The calligraphy on the front says Wabi Sabi. It is the
Japanese aesthetic that invites people to appreciate imperfect (especially old or well used) things. I used that appliqué as a joke about the kite's imperfection, but now I wonder if it refers to me!

Couple of days ago.
My Shook built Compass Rose kite. SOOO smooth even in the bumpiest wind (thank you Flying Smiles kites).
Then, if that wasn't enough fun, a long stint with my Ziggy-Zaggy (Great Winds Kites). It's a tumbler that is so active and so easy to catch and fly back up that I think of it as a sky yo-yo. I had an unacceptable vid of the action. next time.

Yesterday the wind didn't slack until after dark. Hoping you too the opportunity to do a little flying.
I spent the day flying some SLKs that I have been passing over recently. Then, after dinner, got back into the field with Donna Houchins and our friend and sport kite designer Devin Cobleigh-Morrison. Vids of his AMAZING flying skills coming in following posts.
