In his documentary "Ocean with David Attenborough," Sir David Attenborough states, "After living for nearly 100 years on this planet, I now understand the most important place on Earth is not on land – but at sea." in honor of Sir David Attenborough being 100 years old, maybe, just maybe... we should LISTEN TO HIM!
💨 Think the Amazon is the planet’s lungs?
Actually, over half of the oxygen you’re breathing right now came from the ocean.
🌊 Tiny organisms called phytoplankton drift near the surface of the sea, using sunlight to photosynthesize — just like plants on land — and produce oxygen.
But that’s just the beginning of what the ocean does for us:
It regulates our climate, feeds billions of people, absorbs heat and carbon from the atmosphere, and even perhaps holds the key to medical breakthroughs.
The ocean doesn’t just connect continents — it connects everything.
