As we round out teacher appreciation week, we take today to celebrate a magical unicorn — Amber L. Cromwell 🦄

Amber started teaching for us in 2020 with the launch of our online program. She holds the title as our residential art therapist & facilitates a weekly online art class that encourages artists to be curious & creative while exploring feelings & emotions. While her cohort continues to grow, so do her students — as they continue to evolve as artists & humans. It truly is the the most beautiful class 🌈🌈

Amber! Thank you so much for your passionate commitment to our program & all the creativity & wisdom you always weave in! We all learn so much from you & you make our even dreamier 🌈🌈

It’s still ‘teacher appreciation week’ & so today we get to celebrate one of our newest instructors — Cameryn Hernandez!

Cameryn came to us early last year & has added yet another beautiful color & energy to our ✨💛🩵💜🩷 she is a bright light & her positivity, sense of humor & passion for dance is contagious & palpable.

Cameryn teaches 2 in-person classes on Thursdays & her dancers could not adore her anymore! The PURE JOY that exists in Cameryn’s classes is overflowing each & every week. She often talks about how much she has learned from her students 🥹🥹 to listen to Cameryn speak about her DFD experience thus far is deeply moving . . . she is a superstar & we are beyond blessed to have found her!

Cameryn — thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the LOVE & light you shine onto our program & dancers! We have also learned so much from you & it’s an honor to dance alongside you

We continue celebrating teacher appreciation week with Co-Founder, Artistic Director & incredible instructor, SARI ANNA THOMAS! Sari is a superstar and does it all - from artistic directing to choreography to teaching to so many things in between 😎

Sari has been teaching the Down syndrome & disability commUNITY for over 13 years. Her approach to teaching is unique in that she has created & developed classes where everyone of all ages, levels & abilities feels challenged, supported & successful! She has trained our other instructors in this approach as well.

Everything she does comes from her beautiful, kind heART 💛 She is truly a gift to this program. She teaches and with so much love and compassion and has a deep connection and commitment to her students.

In addition to teaching 10 of our weekly classes, she is our insanely talented Artistic Director - a creative force behind the scenes. She is a backbone of this organization and DFD literally would not exist without her!

SARI - THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the energy, kindness, love and dedication you bring to DFD! We couldn’t do it without you!

HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK! Today we celebrate our incredible instructor, Dani Everts!

Dani teaches many of our hip hop classes both in-person & online.

Dani has such a passion for teaching and working with our commUNITY and the love she has for her students radiates from everything she does. In addition to teaching her classes, she also helps out behind the scenes in so many ways. She is such a gift to this program and our students 💛

Dani has been a dancer and teacher for many years and brings such incredible experience to her work with us. She has been a part of our DFD family since practically the beginning. She started volunteering in 2018 and officially became part of our faculty in 2019 - becoming our FIRST hire!

DANI - THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO - both inside & outside of classes! We are so GRATEFUL for your love for DFD. You bring so much beauty to this program & we are so blessed to have you in our DFD family!

Come Tap with us this Saturday 5/2!

We are offering an in-person tap class this weekend & there is still space available!

No tap shoes required!

Dancers can wear athletic tennis shoes that lace up instead. We like to call these dancers our ‘tennis shoe tappers’!

Sending our deepest gratitude to our friends at .oc for their continued support, as we were once again recognized as a grant recipient at their annual luncheon where they provide funding to so many wonderful organizations doing incredible work in our local commUNITY. Congrats to all of our fellow grantees!

With their support, we will be able to continue to expand & grow our programming so that all individuals have access to high-quality dance & arts education.

Today is 3/21 — an international holiday for so many of our students & for so much of our commUNITY!

Today we take a moment to celebrate all of our SUPERSTARS, as they continue to shatter the glass ceiling & remind the world that there are no limits as to how far they can fly!
