🚨PROTEST ALERT: PATIENTS OVER POLITICS🚨

Healthcare is a human right, not a political bargaining chip. This Saturday, we're rallying at CHOC to send one message: Put your patients first.

CHOC leadership has announced they will end gender-affirming care on February 6th-weeks before any legal requirement and despite ongoing lawsuits from Lambda Legal and the ACLU against the federal government. We are demanding that CHOC executives reverse this decision, stand with their medical staff, and defend the life-saving care California's kids rely on.

We know this wasn't an easy decision for them to make, and we're here to let them know we will support them as long as they choose to stand up and refuse to comply in advance.

Our First Aid for Protesters event on Saturday was a huge success! We gave out first aid kits and Narcan to every attendee, and spent nearly 3 hours learning with Wound Walk as much material about first aid in a protest setting as possible. We also raised over $500 for !

This was such a huge success that we are looking at doing not only an additional class of the same curriculum, but expanding to a more in-depth training. If this was ‘Street Medic 101’, we’ll also be doing a ‘Street Medic 102’, as well as collaborating with Wound Walk for CPR training and certification.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, and we’ll be sharing upcoming class offerings soon.

Together, we’re building our skills to challenge fascism as it rolls down our city streets.

🚨 Street Medic Training, brought to you by Pride at the Pier and Wound Walk OC

The rate of state sponsored violence at protests big and small has increased this year at a terrifying rate. That doesn’t mean we stop protesting, that doesn’t mean we stop challenging fascism and putting our bodies on the line for our neighbors. But it DOES mean we should develop the skills to protect ourselves and our neighbors in the process.

We’re going to try and cover as much essential info as possible in a 2.5 hour class this Saturday, November 8th, from 2:30PM - 5:00PM.

This includes:
• Stop the Bleed
• Tear Gas and Chemical Warfare
• Impact Injuries and Splinting
• Burns and Heat Related Injuries
• CPR overview and Mass Casualty Triage
• Narcan
• and more

We’re also going to be sending you home with Narcan and a basic First Aid Kit for you to start your own kit with.

We’re asking for $25 donation to cover supplies, but scholarships are available upon request.

Last night, our representative provided a Pride Month Proclamation for Huntington Beach, since the city council was not going to.

We were born out of Huntington Beach, and will continue to remind this council about that as they continue to make derogatory comments towards the q***r community for political points.

Come fly the Giant Pride Flag this Saturday, May 24th. Pride at the Pier is proud to join a coalition of groups standing in solidarity against tyranny, and in support of trans rights, immigration rights, the right to due process, and for the myriad of marginalized communities under direct threat right now.

Bring a friend and come hang out with us, or join another rally along PCH. Don't feel comfortable doing that? Decorate your car and drive the full length of the Orange County coastline, honking to support all the way.

Rallies alone WILL NOT get us out of this nightmare - but it's an opportunity for joy and networking. Come meet the people doing the work in our community. ✊

MAJOR CALL TO ACTION.

We've been working with the student athlete in question and her family for this call to action. We need enthusiastic cheering squads at Yorba Linda High School this Saturday, to drown out the hateful noise of well-organized transphobes.

This is the same athlete that PYLUSD Trustee Leandra Blades helped doxx a few months back, and Saturday is going to be a very challenging day for this athlete. As always, we will not be identifying this minor publicly on social media. We are asking NOT to engage with extremists at this event. Please do NOT come ready for a protest, OR for a Pride celebration - this is a track meet, and the athlete in question has asked for support for all the student athletes, in a way that does not put her ability to participate at risk. We are there to cheer her and her teammates on as they show off the culmination of their hard work this year.
