Your membership donation allows us to fund our native plant restoration projects through the Ocean Friendly Gardens program.

We have those projects in Irby Park and River’s End Park. We will also be getting shovels ready for our sand dune restoration work in Seal Beach.

On Sunday we held a beach cleanup inside Huntington State Beach at the Beach Blvd entrance.

We were joined by the OC Conservation Corps who help collect recyclables when sorting through the pit.

The average weight collected per person was 6.8 lbs. The normal amount for this location is 1.5 lbs which shows us that the summer crowd is leaving behind a lot of trash.

More than 9,600 los of trash has been collected year to date.

Next month we will be back in Bolsa Chica.

Memberships help us keep our cleanup efforts going from Newport Beach to Huntington Beach to Seal Beach.

They allowed us to adopt a 1.5 mile final stretch of the Santa Ana River.

They allow us to hop onto kayaks and stand up paddleboards to clean Huntington Harbor.

The number of volunteers and trash weight allows us to talk officials, departments, and elected representatives with data to come up with short and long term solutions. We get to represent you, businesses in the area, and the tourists that visit Orange County.

Yesterday two new trash interceptor were announced to be coming to SoCal via the at the . One in the LA River and the other in the San Gabriel River that splits us in Orange County/Seal Beach and LA/Long Beach.

For over 2 years we have been part of discussions with elected and department officials. We have brought in the data from the cleanups our amazing volunteers have conducted. Reinforced the need to make sure the green sea turtles that swim in the river will not be harmed. And are always here to protect the ocean, waves, and beaches for all.

With any luck, Seal Beach will be better protected by the first flush of 2028.
