AYSO Region 55 in Huntington Beach operates with a mission to develop and deliver quality soccer experiences in a fun, family-oriented environment, guided by AYSO’s Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Positive Coaching, Open Registration, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. Region 55 welcomes children ages 4 to 18, ensuring every player gets significant playing during the regular season-so all kids have the opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy the game. The region offers programs for recreational leagues, EXTRA program for advanced players, summer camps. Supported by dedicated volunteers, Region 55 creates a positive, inclusive soccer experience for all families in the Huntington Beach community.

This October, AYSO Region 55 is going PINK! 🎀

Join us in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month by bringing a little extra pink to the fields throughout October. 💕 Whether it’s pink socks, jerseys, accessories, or the whole squad decked out in pink—we want to see it!

🤫⚽️ SHHHHH… IT’S SILENT WEEKEND! ⚽️🤫

This weekend, we’re turning down the sideline volume and turning UP the player experience! 🙌

Silent Weekend is all about giving our players the chance to play, think, communicate, make decisions, and trust their instincts—without a constant stream of instructions from the sidelines. It also helps our amazing volunteer referees do their jobs without sideline interference. 💙

🤫 THE SILENT WEEKEND PLAYBOOK

👨‍👩‍👧 SPECTATORS:

No verbal comments or directions to players, coaches, or referees.

👏 Clapping IS allowed! Bring the signs, wave those rally towels, and cheer with your hands!

🚫 No horns, whistles, or other noisemakers.

🧑‍🏫 COACHES:

Let the players make the decisions! Coaches should avoid verbal or non-verbal direction while players are on the field. Team instruction can happen before the game, at halftime, and during substitutions.

⚽️ PLAYERS:

This is YOUR game! Communicate with your teammates, support each other, make decisions, and play your game. 💪

🧑‍⚖️ REFEREES:

Keep doing what you do—communicate with players and help keep the game safe, fair, and fun.

The goal isn't to make the sidelines boring—it’s to make the players the loudest voices on the field. 🗣️⚽️

So this weekend, take a breath, sit back, clap it out, and let the kids PLAY! ❤️

❤️⚽️ REMEMBERING BUTCH DUCHARME

Today, AYSO Region 55 remembers Butch Ducharme, who passed away suddenly on September 11, 2015.

For 16 years, Butch gave so much to our AYSO community—as a coach, referee, and Commissioner of Region 55. His dedication, kindness, and unmistakable smile touched countless children, families, and volunteers. ❤️

Butch was more than a volunteer—he was a friend, mentor, husband, father, and an important part of the Region 55 family.

11 years later, his impact lives on. We remember his service, his spirit, and the many lives he helped shape through the game he loved.

Forever part of the Region 55 family. 💙⚽️
