CTA is in favor of waiving state standardized testing this year. Here's more info and an opportunity to weigh in!

As educators continue to go above and beyond to reach, teach and protect school communities during extraordinary circumstances, CTA is calling for a waiver on standardized tests that will negatively impact students and be of little use to schools.

Up until this point, reopening decisions have been left entirely up to local school districts. Now, the state is now expected to take over the decision making.

The governor presented his revised budget today. It still needs to be approved by the legislature, but instead of the slight COLA of 2.3% that school districts were expecting, the budget cuts LCFF funding 10%. This is a huge gap. Please contact your Congressional Representative to encourage the federal government to help fill that gap. Of the funding already sent from the feds to the states, only 2% went to schools. Our children will need more help from schools, not less. Please call! And share!
