What a way to spend a Sunday!

We gathered at the LaSalle Family Natural Area to celebrate 75 acres of Cedar Creek woodland, protected forever thanks to a generous donation from Amanda and Bill LaSalle. We shared a short program, then walked the land together.

Land like this stays wild because people decide it should. Thank you, Amanda and Bill, and everyone who came out to celebrate.

While volunteers have been busy clearing preserves of invasive plants, our stewardship crew has been just as busy.
From installing new airless tires on the Mule (so flat tires can't slow them down), to planting thousands of trees across several properties, and yes, even enjoying a treat (or two) from preserve neighbor, Auburn Dairy Freeze, they've been hard at work restoring the places so many of you have helped protect.

Conservation is never a solo act.
It's volunteers with gloves and trash bags, stewards with heavy equipment, members backing it all and neighbors with cold treats on a hot day. Every single piece matters.

Thank you for being part of the work!

Everyone has a tree.

The one you climbed as a kid. The one in your grandparents' yard. The oak you walk past every morning that's somehow grown into part of your routine. The maple that glows brilliantly every October.

Today is National Love a Tree Day, and we want to hear the memories about your favorite tree!
Where is it? What does it look like? Why does it stick with you?

Drop a photo or a memory of your favorite tree in the comments!

A big thank you to preserve steward Dan M. and the crew from NIPSCO, who recently spent their time repairing the boardwalk and little bridge at Lloyd W. Bender Memorial Forest - ACRES Land Trust in Noble County.

Visitors can continue safely exploring this wetland forest because folks are willing to roll up their sleeves and put in the work. Thank you for helping us protect this place and welcoming others to enjoy it.

We want to make sure as many families as possible have a chance to be part of Wild Wonder this summer... so we've expanded the age range to 7–11!

Campers will spend a week at Asherwood in Wabash County, exploring the outdoors and creating nature-inspired art each day, culminating in a grand outdoor art show.

Our volunteers are the roots of everything we do.

Whether it's pulling invasive plants, working at a booth or keeping our daily operations running, the people who share their time and talents with ACRES make this mission possible...just as they have since the very beginning.

This year alone, our volunteers have already contributed over 900 hours toward protecting local land!

We couldn't do this work without your partnership.
Thank you! πŸ’š

Happy Earth Day!

Today is a day for action.

Whether you pick up trash along a trail, plant something native, donate to your favorite land-protecting nonprofit, or simply share your love of nature with someone who needs a little nudge outside….it all matters.

Small acts in local places add up to something lasting.

And as you experience the joy that comes with caring for the land close to home maybe, for you, every day becomes Earth Day.

All week long, your donation to ACRES is doubled thanks to a $20,000 match from our board of directors and a generous ACRES member. Your money goes further toward local land protection!
